Question: What's wrong with my engine/other parts?
At random, my car whirs and rattles like a school bus at idle. Once this rattling begins, it sticks around and becomes a loud droning sound after 2nd gear. When passing 2nd gear, the droning becomes like a racecar or a muffled airplane and stays consistent until dropping back to 1st gear. The engine is the stock V6, and when scanning for codes just an oxygen sensor issue comes up. When the issue first began, I could stop it from rattling by blasting the heater, and when the heater was turned off it would start up again immediately. Now, it does not respond to the heater being on. Recently, something fell from the front passenger and since then the sound has completely stopped at idle and only triggers when passing 2nd gear and will continue afterwards at 1st gear or idle until it sputters out. This issue has only come up and became an ongoing issue once the weather has gotten cold. I have only been suggested 2 ideas: a bad fan clutch, or bad oil. I just got an oil change and the issue has persisted.
